The York Region Addiction Treatment Centre is a private outpatient addiction facility that specializes in referrals from family physicians whose patients' driver's licenses have been suspended, and who are required to provide satisfactory medical evidence to the Registrar of Motor Vehicles of the Ontario Ministry of Transportation to support the reinstatement of their driving privilege.
The York Region Addiction Treatment Centre specializes in the medical assessment, treatment, and ongoing monitoring of those patients whose driving licenses have been suspended by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation as a result of driving while impaired (DWI). This includes evaluating the patient's use of, abuse of, or dependence upon, alcohol, illicit drugs, or prescription drugs, providing individualized plans to meet the needs of each patient, as well as random broad-based drugs of abuse testing. Upon successful completion of our program, and upon a favourable recommendation and confirmation from one of our addictions medicine physicians that such patients have remained abstinent from alcohol and/or all illicit substances, this period of a one year suspension can be reduced by the Registrar of Motor Vehicles.
The York Region Addiction Treatment Centre is discretely located in a state-of-the-art multidisciplinary medical building in Richmond Hill, Ontario. All of the services that we provide are private and confidential. Any information regarding our patients will only be shared with persons outside of the York Region Addiction Treatment Centre with the patient's written informed consent, or where required to do so under the law.
